*Be sure to select Rose Drive during the registration process in order for Rose Drive to receive $5 of your registration fee.

  • Online registration is open now, go to reach4pylusd.org and click on the 2016 ShamRock ‘n Run tab. This is the only way to donate $5.00 of your registration to the school of your choice. This is not an additional charge to your registration fee, REACH donates this money to the school from our proceeds. There will be a dropdown menu where you will choose your school. Registration includes run t shirt.
  • Our event is a 5K timed certified run and a 2K fun run/walk
  • We have a professional DJ, entertainment, free pancake breakfast for all 2K participants (if not registered you can still order more for $3.00. 5K runners are admitted into the Leprechaun Lounge with free food tastings from many local restaurants.
  • There is a business expo and really fun kids zone with face painting, Home Depot Craft station and fun games.
  • Proceeds from this event pay for the district wide Middle School Track meet, this year held at Yorba Linda High School. Middle Schoolers get a feel for competing under the big lights of a High School Stadium. Again with professional DJ, and concession stand.
  • This is a great family friendly event, we start early Sunday, March 6 but are generally done by noon.

PTA Welcome Letter

Dear Parents and Teachers,

Welcome to Rose Drive Elementary School’s 2015-2016 school year! I hope you had a wonderful summer.

My name is Natalie (“Jamy”) Holguin, and I will be serving my first year as your PTA president. I have two sons that attend Rose Drive and a daughter at Yorba Linda Middle School. I am so lucky to be part of a fantastic school with great parents, remarkable teachers, and wonderful students.

This letter is to invite all parents, students, family members and staff to JOIN OUR PTA (Parent Teacher Association) and support the many things that the PTA does for Rose Drive Elementary School. Attached is our membership envelope; please turn in your envelope and dues when returning all of your first-day packet paperwork. Dues are $10.00 per person. All family members can join the PTA, including students and grandparents. Please make checks payable to Rose Drive PTA. Attendance at meetings is not required to be a member of PTA.

Rose Drive PTA is committed to providing exceptional programs that benefit all of our students. Below is a list of some of the fantastic programs PTA has been able to provide over the last few years. With your support, we hope to continue providing these invaluable programs for years to come.

Rose Drive PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year is our Jog-A-Thon. Jog-A-Thon packets will go home on September 14th, so please remember the wonderful programs that your donations support. Our financial goal this year is $35,000 and 100% student participation.

Dear Rose Drive Families,

On behalf of the Rose Drive PTA, I would like to welcome you back to another exciting school year. Rose Drive PTA has made great strides to minimize the number of times we ask our families for monetary donations through fundraising activities. We have achieved this goal by making our Jog-A-Thon, Rose Drive’s primary fundraiser. The funds raised allow our PTA to financially support programs and provide materials for our students that the school district no longer provides. The Jog-A-Thon also encourages school spirit, physical fitness and team work.

Last year we raised an amazing $32,000! Our 2015 Jog-A-Thon GOAL is $35,000. In order to reach our goal, a suggested donation per student is $85. This is the “Magic Number” for 2015! Your donations enable Rose Drive PTA to continue to provide invaluable programs and resources that enrich each and every student’s education at Rose Drive Elementary. For example, your donations go towards the purchase of Google Chrome Books and Carts, ST Math, the FIBO Art Program, Assemblies, Family Night Events and much, much more!

Attached you will find the Jog-A-Thon Donation sheet/Permission Slip, Incentives sheet and the Business Sponsorship Opportunities form. We encourage students to ask family, friends and local businesses for support. We do not allow door-to-door solicitation.

In order to be eligible for individual prizes, ALL FORMS AND CHECKS ARE DUE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9th!

Things to Remember:
Event Day – Friday, October 30th from 8:10 am to 11:45 am. Specific running times for each class will be announced as the event gets closer.
All donations are tax deductible (our tax identification # is 23-7451155).
All students MUST have a signed permission slip to participate!

PTA Reflections Art Contest 2015-16


Let Your Imagination Fly and enter this year’s REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST. Your Child’s art could be chosen to represent ROSE DRIVE at PYLUSD, Orange County, or State of California level. Everyone who participates will be recognized at a school art show during Open House and a district wide Art Show in February.


Accepted forms of VISUAL ART include: Architecture (2D/3D), carpentry, ceramics, collages, photographic collages (multiple photos cut/pasted), computer-generated image, crafts, design, dioramas, drawing, fiber work, jewelry, kites, metal etching/punch work, mobiles, painting, printmaking, sculpture and wind chimes. Reproductions or enlargements of other artwork are not accepted.

Accepted forms of PHOTOGRAPHY include: A single photo, panoramic, photomontage (one seamless print of multiple original photos), a multiple exposure, negative sandwich or photogram. Original black-and-white and color images are accepted.

Non-accepted forms of PHOTOGRAPHY include: Entries with added graphics over the image, including lettering, are not accepted. Original film (negatives or transparencies) and multidimensional pieces are not accepted.

FILM PRODUCTION is the process of making a film. The producer (student submitting the entry) is not required to appear in the film but if the student chooses to, a camera tripod may be used. All screenwriting, directing, camera/filming and editing must be done by the student producer. PowerPoint presentations are prohibited.

MUSIC COMPOSITION is the process of creating a new piece of music. The composer (student submitting entry) is a person who expresses their own thoughts and ideas through the use of sound. The student composer may submit an entry performed by an individual or group and/or make use of a sound library generated performance of a composed score. Student composers are not required to perform their composition

DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY is the act of creating movement. The choreographer (student submitting entry) may be the performer or one of the performers, but the choreographer does not have to perform in the entry.

*Theme is very important, please make sure your child’s art is inspired by the theme ‘LET YOUR IMAGINATION FLY!’

*ENTRY FORMS AVAILABLE IN OFFICE , all entries MUST have a parent signed entry form attached.

*Voting moves from School (Rose Drive) to School District (PYLUSD) to Orange County and State of California.
